Snapseed, owned by Google, is designed for photo editing. It is compatible with Apple computers and phones, Android tablets and phones, and Windows computers and phones. Read our article and you will learn how to use this program.
Steps
Part 1 of 4: Autocorrect
Step 1. Launch Snapseed
After launching the program, you can upload the photo you want to edit directly from your camera or from your computer.
Step 2. Your photo will be located on the right side of the screen

- Compare allows you to display the original photo unchanged.
- Revert allows you to undo all changes.

Step 3. Turn on automatic editing
Click on the Autocorrect button. The program will automatically adjust the contrast and color of the photo.

Step 4. Compare the result
Press and hold the Compare button to compare the resulting changes to the original photo.
- If you are not satisfied with the result, then click on the Cancel or Revert button.
- If you are happy with the result, then click the Apply button to save your changes. Then you will return to your photo and can make additional changes.
Part 2 of 4: Basic Editing Functions
Step 1. Make selective correction of the photo
Click on the Selective Adjust button. Click on the Add icon to highlight the part of the photo that you would like to manually edit.
- You can edit the selected area of the photo by clicking the Brightness, Contrast, or Saturation buttons.
- Once you determine what you need to edit, you can adjust the parameters by swiping left or right.
Step 2. Make “fine-tuning” of the photo
To do this, click on the Tune Image button. You will have a choice of Brightness, Ambiance, Contrast, Saturation, Shadows, and Warmth buttons. Swipe left or right to select the options you want.

Step 3. Align or flip the image
If your photo looks uneven, or if you want to rotate it 90 ° to the left or right, then use the Straighten and Rotate buttons.
- You can adjust the angle of the photo between -10 ° to + 10 °.
- Pressing Rotate Left or Rotate Right will rotate the photo 90 ° to the left or 90 ° to the right.
Step 4. Crop the photo
If you want to delete some parts of the photo or create a completely different photo, then you can use the Crop function. It allows you to crop a photo or shift the emphasis in it.
- In order to select a certain area of the photo, you need to move the edges of the selection marker (in the form of a rectangle), which will appear on it when you activate the function.
- You can shrink and enlarge this rectangle while maintaining the size of the photo.
- Click on the Ratio icon to change the aspect ratio of the photo.
- Click on the Rotate icon to rotate the crop function rectangle 90 °.
Step 5. Enhance the image
Click on the Details button. You can activate the Loupe function. Move it to the area of the photo where you would like to sharpen the image. Swipe left or right to adjust settings.
Part 3 of 4: Some More Advanced Editing Features
Step 1. Make the image black and white
Click the Black-and-White button. You can change the brightness, contrast and graininess of the image.
- The Color Filter icon simulates color filters that can brighten some objects of the same color in a black and white image.
- The Presets icon allows you to quickly edit your photo using several black and white filters.
Step 2. Create a sense of nostalgia
Click on the Vintage Films button. You can change brightness, saturation, texture and more. Swipe left or right to adjust the options.
- The Texture icon will provide a choice of different textures for your photo.
- The Style icon will provide different style options with different light and color distributions.
- Experiment with different features and see how your photo changes.
Step 3. Add some drama
Select the Drama function. Swipe up or down to choose between Filter Strength and Saturation. Swipe left or right to adjust settings.

Step 4. Create a dreamy look
Click on the HDR Scape function. Swipe your finger up or down to select the filter you want, the degree of brightness and saturation, and the degree of "smoothing" of the photo. Swipe left or right to adjust the options you want.

Step 5. Add textures and unusual effects
Click on the Grunge function. Swipe up or down to select the style, brightness, contrast, texture and saturation you want. Swipe left or right to adjust the options.
- Click on the Texture icon to select one of the predefined effects.
- Click on the Shuffle icon to have the program choose a random effect for your photo.
Step 6. Change the sharpness
Select Center Focus. Swipe up or down to select the degree of sharpness and brightness of the foreground and background. Swipe left or right to adjust the options you want.
- Click on the Presets icon to choose from a preset effect.
- The Strong and Weak icon allows you to select the degree of "blur" of the image.
Step 7. Miniaturize the image
Click on the Tilt-Shift button. Swipe up or down to select the focus shift (Transition), the degree of blur (Blur Strength), brightness, saturation and contrast of the image. Swipe left or right to adjust the options.
- The Transition function allows you to edit areas that are in focus and out of focus.
- The Style icon allows you to select the size of the focus.
Step 8. Go back in time
Select the Retrolux function. Swipe up or down to select brightness, saturation, contrast, style, scratches, and streaks of light. Swipe left or right to adjust the options.
- The Scratches feature lets you add dots and scratches to your photo. Light Leaks - streaks of light.
- Click on the Style icon to add different styles to your photo. If you click on Shuffle, the program will choose a random effect.
Step 9. Add a frame to the photo
Click on Frames and choose a frame size.
- Click on Frame and choose the frame you like.

Part 4 of 4: How to Save and Share Your Photo with Friends
