Steps

Step 1. Purchase Adobe InDesign if you haven't already
Follow the onscreen instructions to install InDesign on your computer, then restart it if necessary.

Step 2. Become familiar with the InDesign workspace and the tools available to the user

Step 3. Launch Adobe InDesign

Step 4. Open the InDesign document you plan to work with by choosing File> Open from the Control Panel at the top of the workspace
If you do not have an existing InDesign document, create a new one by choosing File> New> Document and setting options for the new document.

Step 5 Using the selection tool in InDesign, located on the toolbar, click on the picture or frame with text, which you want to add a background
- If you don't already have a drawing in your document, click File> Insert in the InDesign control bar. Find the file you want to add and double click on its name. Move the cursor to the place or frame where you want to insert the image and press the left mouse button. If necessary, adjust the size of the image by selecting it with the selection tool and dragging the handle while holding down the Ctrl and Shift keys. Thus, proportionally changing the size of the picture. You can also enter a specific value for the height and width of the picture in the Height and Width boxes on the control panel.
- If you don't already have text in your document, you can directly print the text in your document by first creating a text frame using the Type tool on the InDesign toolbar. With the Text tool selected, click on the text frame, and feel free to type. If the text you are looking for is already saved in a text editor, choose File> Insert, find the file you want to import and double-click on its name. The loading cursor appears. Move the mouse cursor to the place where you want to insert the text and click on it.

Step 6. Open the drop shadow box by choosing Object> Drop Shadow from the InDesign Control Panel.
