RAR is an archive file format created through the WinRAR program. The RAR archive contains other files (for example, video files), but in a compressed form, so the RAR file cannot be played in a media player such as Windows Media Player. To play media files packed into an archive, you must either unpack the archive using the WinRAR program, or use the Dziobas Rar Player media player, which automatically unpacks the archive and plays the media files stored in it.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: WinRAR

Step 1. Open the AfterDawn website, download and install WinRAR

Step 2. Double click on the RAR file
The archive will open in WinRAR.

Step 3. Click "Eject" on the taskbar (top)

Step 4. In the corresponding line at the top, enter / find the extraction path (this is the folder where the files extracted from the archive will be saved)

Step 5. Click OK
The compressed files will be extracted and saved in the specified folder.

Step 6. Open the folder with the extracted files
Since these files are no longer compressed, they can be played in any media player such as Windows Media Player.
Method 2 of 2: Dziobas RAR Player

Step 1. Download the Dziobas player from the AfterDawn website

Step 2. Run the downloaded installer to install the player

Step 3. Launch the Dziobas player (click "Start" - "All Programs" - "Dziobas")

Step 4. Click "File" (in the upper right corner) and select "Open RAR (rewind)"

Step 5. In the window that opens, find the RAR file

Step 6. Select the RAR file and click "Open"
Dziobas will temporarily unpack the RAR archive and start playing the media files stored in it.
Advice
- Create a new folder to store the extracted files. By doing this, you ensure that the files stored on your computer are not overwritten by the retrievable files.
- If you want to extract files to the same folder as the RAR file, right-click on it and select “Extract to current folder” from the menu (for this you must have WinRAR installed).
