How to manually update iTunes: 3 steps (with pictures)

iTunes conveniently updates automatically when new software versions are released. As the saying goes, some users may want to manually update for one reason or another. Skip to Step 1 to learn how to manually update the software through iTunes.

Steps

Step 1. Open iTunes

Double click on the iTunes icon on your desktop.

Step 2. Open Help

On the menu bar, at the top of the iTunes window, click on “Help.”

Step 3. Click on Check for Updates

In the Help menu, scroll down and click on “Check for Updates.” iTunes should determine if your version of iTunes is the latest or not.

If not, an update window should appear asking permission to download and install the latest version
