Autosave and AutoRecover features can be included in Microsoft Word 2007 to save and automatically back up your work. At times, you may experience power outages or errors that force you to restart your computer before you can save your work. The autosave feature allows you to set how often you want to save your work automatically by choosing a particular time period in minutes. The automatic recovery feature is used to restore a document to the same state or location before a system crash. Read on to learn how to customize the AutoSave and AutoRecover features in Microsoft Word 2007.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Turn on Autosave

Step 1. Open Microsoft Word 2007 application

Step 2. Click the Microsoft Office Button on any document that you have opened in Word
It's the Microsoft Windows logo button and it's in the upper left corner of Word.

Step 3. Select the "Word Options" button at the bottom of the window that appears

Step 4. Select "Save" in the left pane

Step 5. Click the arrow in the Save file in the following format drop-down menu and select Word 97-2003 Document
