Steps
Method 1 of 3: Outlook 2013 and 2016 on Windows

Step 1. Start Microsoft Outlook
From the Start menu, click the envelope-shaped icon with the letter O.

Step 2. Open the File menu
You will find it in the upper left corner.

Step 3. Click Account on the menu
A new page will open your account and software information.
In some versions, this option is called "Office Account"

Step 4. Click Updates under Outlook Information
The Information section provides information about the software. If you click on the specified option, a menu will open.

Step 5. Click Update on the menu
This will search for available updates - if available, they will be installed.
If the button is not listed, first click "Enable Updates" and then click "Update"
Method 2 of 3: Outlook 2010 on Windows

Step 1. Start Microsoft Outlook
From the Start menu, click the envelope-shaped icon with the letter O.

Step 2. Open the File menu
You will find it in the upper left corner.

Step 3. Click Help on the menu
This option is on the left; click or hover over it to open a submenu.

Step 4. Click Check for Updates in the submenu
This will search for available updates - if available, they will be installed.
- In some versions, this option is called Install Updates.
- Please update your computer's operating system before updating Outlook 2010. Otherwise, you'll just go to the Microsoft website.
Method 3 of 3: Outlook on macOS

Step 1. Start Microsoft Outlook
In the Applications folder, click on the envelope-shaped icon with the letter O.

Step 2. Open the Help menu
You will find it next to the Window menu in the menu bar at the top of your screen.

Step 3. Click Check for Updates
A new pop-up window will open the Microsoft Auto-Update Wizard.

Step 4. Click Manually in the window
In this case, you can check for updates manually (without scheduled auto-updates).
Alternatively, you can select the Automatic option and then click Daily, Weekly, or Monthly. In this case, Outlook will be updated automatically

Step 5. Click Check for Updates
You will find this option in the lower right corner. A search for available updates will start.
- If Outlook finds updates, it will prompt you to install or skip them.
- If there are no updates, a notification will appear. Click "OK" to close it.
