Firefox is a popular web browser that can be downloaded for free. It's fast and highly customizable. This article explains how to download and install Firefox on Windows, Mac OS, Android, and how to install custom add-ons.
Steps
Method 1 of 4: Windows

Step 1. Open the Mozilla website
The Free Download link (in the green field) will automatically detect your operating system and its language.
If you want to download Firefox in a different language or operating system, click Other Systems and Languages directly under Download

Step 2. Click "Download"
The download of the file will start immediately. Once the download is complete, click on the file to begin installing the program. A window may open asking you to confirm the start of the installation.

Step 3. Select the type of installation
The default silent installation will work for most users. This will install everything you need to get started with Firefox immediately. If you choose a custom installation, you will be presented with the following options:
- Place for installation. Firefox automatically chooses where to install. You can change it if you like.
- Maintenance. This is automatic Firefox refresh in the background. Disable it if you want to install updates manually.
- Location of icons. You will be given the option to select your desktop, Start menu, and Quick Launch bar.
- Firefox is the default browser. Select this option to open all pages on the web in Firefox.

Step 4. Start Firefox
After a while, Firefox will be installed and you can start browsing the web.

Step 5. Import settings
If you used a different browser before Firefox, you can import settings, bookmarks, history, and passwords from your old browser. This may take a few minutes.
Method 2 of 4: Mac OS

Step 1. Download Firefox
Open the Mozilla website. The Free Download link (in the green field) will automatically detect your operating system and its language. If you want to download Firefox in a different language or operating system, click Other Systems and Languages directly under Download.

Step 2. Open the DMG file
After the download is complete, the DMG file should open automatically. If it doesn't, click on the downloaded file.

Step 3. Install the application
Drag the Firefox.app file to the Applications directory. Control-click the Firefox window. Select Eject Firefox.

Step 4. Add Firefox to the Dock
To add Firefox to the Dock for quick access, click and drag an icon from the Applications folder to the Dock.

Step 5. Start Firefox
You will be warned that the program has been loaded. Confirm that you want to open the program. Firefox will ask you to set it as your default browser. After your choice, you can start working with the browser.
Method 3 of 4: Supplements

Step 1. Definition of add-ons
Add-ons are applications that you can install in Firefox and thus give it additional functionality. You can browse a large library of free add-ons directly from the Firefox window.

Step 2. Open the add-on manager
Open the Firefox menu at the top left of the window. Click Add-ons (there is a puzzle to the left of the word). This will open the Add-ons Manager.

Step 3. Find the required add-ons
Click Get Add-ons. Add-ons manager will display some of your favorite add-ons. You can search for specific add-ons in the search bar in the upper right corner of the window. If you want to view the entire add-ons catalog, click on "Show all" on the right.

Step 4. Install add-ons
Once you've found the add-on you want, click the green "Add to Firefox" button. Firefox will ask you for confirmation and then the add-on will be installed. You need to restart Firefox to run the newly installed add-on.
Method 4 of 4: Android

Step 1. Download Firefox
You can do this on the Google Play Store or the Mozilla website.

Step 2. Install the app
Click Install to install the Firefox app. The installer will ask you to confirm access, for example, to a GPS or SD card. Think and allow appropriate access.

Step 3. Run the application
Once the installation is complete, you can open the app. Select the Allow Automatic Updates check box. This will ensure that your Firefox application has the latest security patches.
