With each passing day, your privacy is becoming more important when using e-mail. The email address is used to access many sites, including those that store personal information such as credit card information, addresses and phone numbers. Therefore, it is important to know that you are the only person with access to your personal account.
Steps
Part 1 of 2: Check your account settings

Step 1. Log into your Gmail account
The password is case sensitive. Entering “password” is not the same as “PASSWORD”.

Step 2. Click on your profile photo
It is located in the upper right corner of your browser.

Step 3. Click on “My Account”

Step 4. Select “Security & Login”

Step 5. Click on “Device Actions and Alerts”
This item is located in the menu on the left side of the window.

Step 6. Under “Recent Events” click on “View Events”
Here you can see any activity related to logging into your account in the last 28 days.

Step 7. Go back
Click the go back button (left arrow) located in the upper left corner next to the URL entry field.

Step 8. Select “View connected devices” under “Recently used devices”

Step 9. Protect your account
If you see any suspicious activity or devices that you have not used, click on the "Protect your account" link at the top of the page.
Part 2 of 2: Change your password

Step 1. Log into your Gmail account

Step 2. Click on your profile photo
It is located in the upper right corner of your browser.

Step 3. Click on “My Account”

Step 4. Select “Security & Login”

Step 5. Scroll down to “Password and login method”

Step 6. Click on the "Password" link

Step 7. Enter your current password

Step 8. Enter a new password

Step 9. Click on the “Change Password” button

Step 10. You will automatically be signed out of your account on all devices that are currently connected to your email

Step 11. Log in again to your account using the new password
Advice
- Do not trust passwords even to your close people.
- Remember to log out of your Gmail (or any other) account when using them in public places like coffee shops or internet cafes.
- If Gmail warns you about suspicious activity, change your password immediately.
- To keep your account secure, change your password frequently.
