In most versions of Windows (starting from version 3.1), you can find the Sound Recorder. This article will tell you how to use this program.
Steps

Step 1. Buy a microphone (if you don't have one)

Step 2. Connect the microphone to the connector on the back of the computer case

Step 3. Click "Start" - "All Programs" - "Accessories" - "Sound Recorder"

Step 4. Place the microphone 10 centimeters from your mouth

Step 5. Press Record (big red button) and start speaking into the microphone
The program limits the recording time to 60 seconds, so at the 60th second press the record button again and the recording will start from where you left off.
Advice
-
By default, Sound Recorder is set to medium quality audio recording. To set the highest quality, follow these steps:
- Before recording, click "File" - "Properties" and in the window that opens, click "Convert". Select "187 kbps" from the attribute menu.
- After completing the recording, in the save dialog box, click "Change" and in the attributes menu, select the "187 kb / s" option again.
- Most microphones record sound with distortion caused by excessive airflow when pronouncing certain letters (for example, "b" and "n"). To reduce this distortion, simply cover the microphone with a cloth (preferably thick and porous).
