How to make an automatic door in Minecraft

In this article, you will learn how to make a door in Minecraft creative mode that opens when you step on the pressure plate. This can be done on desktop, mobile, and console versions of Minecraft.

Steps

Part 1 of 3: How to Prepare to Create a Door

Step 1. Start the game in creative mode

An automatic door can also be made in survival mode, but it will take an incredibly long time to find the necessary resources and create items (unless, of course, you have them).

Step 2. Add the required items to the Quick Access Toolbar

To create an automatic door you will need:

• Red stone;
• red torches;
• cobblestone (or a similar solid block such as wood);
• sticky pistons;

• stone pressure plates.

  

  Step 3. Find the place where you want to build the door

  If you already have a place to live, go to it. Otherwise, find a flat area. Now you can start laying the wiring.

  Part 2 of 3: How to Route the Wiring

  

  Step 1. Dig a two by two by three hole

  That is, two blocks deep, two blocks long, and three blocks wide.

  

  Step 2. Dig out two conduits for wiring

  Stand by the middle block on the wide side of the pit (three blocks) and dig a channel two blocks deep and two blocks long; now remove the top block in front of you. Repeat this on the other wide side of the hole.

  

  Step 3. Add a red stone to the bottom of the pit

  Make a two by three redstone grid.

  

  Step 4. Place a red torch at the end of each channel

  Place a torch on the block at the end of each channel.

  

  Step 5. Connect the redstone mesh at the bottom of the pit with the red torches

  To do this, add two red stones to the bottom of each channel.

  

  Step 6. Place a cobblestone on each of the red torches

  You may need to put a cobblestone on the side of the torch first, and then add another one to that cobblestone.

  Instead of cobblestone, you can use any solid block, such as wood

  

  Step 7. Close the pit and channels

  To do this, place the blocks flush with the ground. When you have closed the pit and the channels (only the cobblestones above the red torches should remain on the surface), proceed to create the door.

  Part 3 of 3: How to Create a Door

  

  Step 1. Take sticky pistons

  To do this, select them on the Quick Access Toolbar.

  

  Step 2. Place a sticky plunger in front of each of the two boulders

  Recall that the cobblestones are above the red torches.

  

  Step 3. Place a sticky piston on each of the sticky pistons that face the cobblestones

  

  Step 4. Add a red stone to each of the cobblestones

  It activates the upper sticky pistons.

  

  Step 5. Install the doors

  Place two boulders (they will act as doors) on top of each other in front of each sticky piston. That is, there should be four boulders between the sticky pistons.

  

  Step 6. Place two pressure plates in front of and behind the door

  That is, the pressure plates must be in front of and behind each column of two cobblestones.

  

  Step 7. Check how the doors work

  Step on both pressure plates at once to open the doors - now go through them.
