If the indicator light of your water heater is off, you run the risk of being left without hot water in the house. In most cases, turning on the water heater can be done without professional help. The following information will tell you how to properly turn on the water heater.
Steps

Step 1. Turn off the gas valve
- Typically, the gas tap is a large knob / button located on the water heater.
- To continue further after you have disabled it, wait a few minutes.

Step 2. Set the gas valve to the Pilot function and press it
In case your gas valve is not pushing, look for the red button next to the valve. Keep it facing down

Step 3. Wait until the indicator light turns on
If your water heater does not have an indicator light, remove the external and internal access panels according to the manufacturer's instructions. Then, hold down the light until the power ends, coming from the small silver tube inside the water heater

Step 4. Continue to hold the gas valve or watch the button for 1 minute after the warning light comes on

Step 5. If you removed the access panels, replace them

Step 6. Turn on the gas valve
Advice
- If this method does not work, make sure that the signal lamp at the base is not dirty or clogged. If it is not, clean it and try the same process again.
- If this process does not work, then the reason lies in a weak gas supply or a malfunction of the gas valve. If, even after several attempts, you are unable to turn on your water heater, contact technical support or the gas company for assistance.
