Fat stains are much more difficult to remove. If unpleasant stains appear on your wallet, favorite jacket or leather furniture, it would seem that it is impossible to return things to their original form. But there are several effective home remedies for removing these stains. For this you do not need much time, and the result will be very effective.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Immediate Treatment

Step 1. The sooner you start removing the oily stain from the skin, the less effort will be required
Take action as soon as splashes of oil or bits of greasy food hit the surface of your skin. For immediate cleaning, all you need is:
- piece of cloth
- talc

Step 2. Apply the cloth to the stain
The skin quickly absorbs any liquid, including oil, so the sooner you take action, the easier it will be to get rid of the stain. To do this, apply a soft cloth to the stain, or even better, a microfiber cloth - it absorbs fat better.
Do not scrape the skin surface with sharp objects. This can lead to deformation of the material and, accordingly, to damage the appearance of the product

Step 3. Take a closer look at the texture of the material
Leather, like wood, has a texture direction. Therefore, when cleaning leather, try to wipe it in the direction of the grain, and not vice versa.
If you cannot find the direction of the grain, brushing from the edge to the center will reduce the size of the stain

Step 4. Sprinkle talcum powder over the stain
For this, baby powder is quite suitable. Sprinkle generously, do not be afraid. Talc absorbs well and is completely safe for the skin.
Leave the talcum powder on your skin overnight or at least a few hours

Step 5. Shake off the talcum powder
Use a rag to gently shake off the powder. Try not to press down on the rag to avoid smearing the grease on your skin.
Method 2 of 3: Dishwashing liquid

Step 1. Grease stains from small items can be removed with dishwashing detergent and distilled water
Dampen a cloth with detergent and scrub the stain. You can also spray on the detergent.

Step 2. Apply detergent
Soak a rag in the detergent and start rubbing the stain with gentle strokes in the direction of the texture.

Step 3. Moisten the stain with distilled water
Lightly rub the dirty area with your fingers. Use as much water as needed to rinse off the detergent.

Step 4. Wipe dry with a soft cloth
You may need to repeat the process several times before you can completely get rid of the stain. Repeat the procedure only after the product is completely dry.
Method 3 of 3: Homemade cleaner

Step 1. To prepare a simple and effective leather cleaner, you will need
- 3/8 cup distilled water
- 1/8 cup sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon white flour
- 1 tablespoon baking soda

Step 2. Stir the above ingredients thoroughly until a uniform mass is formed
This mixture effectively removes greasy spots without damaging the skin structure.

Step 3. Perform a trial cleaning of a small area of the skin
Apply the mixture to a less visible part of the product to check how it will affect the texture and color of the skin.

Step 4. Apply a small amount of the mixture you have prepared to the problem area with a rag
Be extremely careful. Simply apply, but do not rub hard.

Step 5. Wipe dry with another cloth
Let the skin dry. Repeat the procedure only after the product is completely dry.

Step 6. Try other methods as well
There are many recipes for cleaning products. The method of cleaning stains is the same, only the composition of the product differs, depending on the availability of certain ingredients at hand. Here are some effective recipes:

- The oily stain is very noticeable at first, however, over time, it disappears on its own as it is absorbed into the skin.
- A special water-based foam will also help to cope with the problem.
- There is always less fat on the front of the skin than on the back.
- The use of a fluoride skin protector prevents the absorption of fatty oils by the skin. This makes subsequent cleaning easier.
