Steps
Step 1. Check the weather forecast
Any painting of the outer parts is fraught with difficulties, because the weather affects this process. Don't paint if it's too hot or too cold, don't paint in direct sunlight if possible and definitely make sure it doesn't rain after painting.
Step 2. Thoroughly clean the door
Some professionals use special cleaning methods, but if you want to save money, just wipe the door with a soapy sponge.
- Dirty doors will make it difficult to paint and can cause uneven finish.
- Sand paper over the peeling paint.
Step 3. Paste or cover the places that you are not going to paint
Place dust covers under the door and use masking tape to limit the area you don't plan to paint.
Step 4. Use a roller to prime the entire surface
For hard-to-reach areas, you may need to use a brush. A primer is mostly needed if you plan to change the color of your garage door. The primer provides a flat and even look for the new door.

Step 5. Paint the door

Step 6. Remove the tape and covers when the door is dry
