The cistern handle is an important component of any toilet design. Not only is it an integral part of it, but the style and decor of the handle should be consistent with the rest of your toilet. If the handle of your cistern starts to rust or is out of date, replace it with a new one to best maintain the look of your toilet.

Step 3. Unscrew the nut that connects the tank arm to the back of the handle
Set it aside to fit onto the new handle.

Method 2 of 2: Installing a new handle
The handle of the cistern can be installed in the same way as you removed the old one. Do it in this order.

The washer is a rubber gasket that helps prevent leaks. It is located opposite the nut.

Step 2. Insert the stem of the new handle through the hole in the side of the cistern

Step 3. Place the washer over the handle stem and tighten the nut into place
Remember that the thread is in reverse; Install the washer and tighten the nut counterclockwise.

Step 5. Tighten the lever nut all the way to hold it in place

Step 6. Turn on the water valve to refill the waste tank
