Steps
Step 1. Remove any rust from the wrought iron

Step 2. Sand the wrought iron
Prepare the iron for painting, sand the entire area with sandpaper. This will provide an ideal surface for priming and painting.
Step 3. Apply a coat of inhibiting primer to the wrought iron
After sanding, the piece is smooth and you need to apply a coat of primer. This will help prevent rust and make the color look the way it should be. An inhibitory primer is a product specifically designed for metals that contain iron and can be purchased at any hardware store. It is best applied with a brush in one thin layer.
Step 4. Sand the primer
Let the primer dry completely, sand it with sandpaper. Clean everything with a sticky cloth before painting to prevent metal particles and dust from mixing with the paint.
Step 5. Use wrought iron paint
