In this article, we'll show you how to prevent YouTube users from commenting on your videos and subscribing to your channel. You can block a user directly from a comment or select a user from the list of subscribers.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: How to block a user from a comment
Step 1. Open YouTube
On your computer, go to https://www.youtube.com and log in to your account. On your mobile device, tap the white triangle icon on a red background to launch the YouTube app.
Step 2. Click on your profile picture
You will find it in the upper right corner.
Step 3. Select your channel
The content of the channel will be displayed.
Step 4. Select a video with a user comment
The comments are below the video.
Step 5. Block the user from the channel
To prevent a user from commenting on your videos and / or subscribing to your channel, do the following:
- On a computer, click ⁝ next to a user's comment and then click Hide User.
- On a mobile device, tap the user's profile picture, tap the "⁝" in the upper-right corner of the user's profile, and then tap Block User.
Method 2 of 2: How to block a user from the subscriber list
Step 1. Go to
If you are not yet signed in to your Google account, click Sign In in the upper right corner, and then enter your credentials.
You cannot open the subscriber list in the YouTube mobile app
Step 2. Click on your profile picture in the upper right corner
A menu will open.
Step 3. Click on your channel
You will find this option at the top of the menu.
Step 4. Click Customize Channel View
It's in the upper-right corner of your profile.
Step 5. Click on (number of) subscribers
You will find this option in the upper left corner (above the channel image). A list of your subscribers will open.
The list will display only those users who do not hide that they have subscribed to your channel
Step 6. Click on the name of the subscriber you want to remove
You will be taken to that subscriber's channel.
Step 7. Click the About the Channel tab
You will find it in the upper right corner.
Step 8. Click on the flag icon
You will find it in the Statistics section on the right pane. A menu will appear.
Step 9. Click Block User
The user will be removed from your list of subscribers and will not be able to communicate with you. Blocked users cannot comment on your videos.
