In Minecraft Creative mode, you can build any kind of building thanks to the fact that you can fly and place blocks. But if you don't know how to stop flying, this feature is more of a hindrance than an advantage. But it's pretty easy to stop flying - just press the jump key twice.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Landing
Step 1. Start or load the game in Creative mode
Flight is possible only in this mode. You will not be able to fly in Survival mode.
Some mods made by Minecraft fans will allow you to fly in other modes as well. The control keys set in mods are mod-specific, so if you are using a mod, open the site from which you downloaded the mod for more information
Step 2. Start flying or levitating
In order to stop flying, you need to start doing it. Press the jump key twice to take off.
- In the PC version of Minecraft, the default jump key is “space”. In other versions of the game, the jump key may be different keys. Here are some examples:
- In Minecraft PE, press the square jump button.
- In Minecraft for Xbox 360 / One, press “A”.
- In Minecraft for Playstation 3/4 press “X”.
Step 3. Press the jump key twice again to stop flying
You will begin to fall down as if jumping off a ledge. After falling to the ground, you will be able to walk normally. To take off again, press the jump key twice.
Step 4. Don't worry about damaging your character while falling to the ground
Flight is only possible in Creative mode. In this mode, the character does not receive any damage at all, including damage when falling. In most cases, falling from a height will kill the character (unless he fell into the water), but don't think about it in Creative mode, so stop flying at any time, even if you can't see the ground below you.
Method 2 of 2: Other Ways to Land
Step 1. Press the "Prowl" key to slowly lower yourself to the ground
The fastest way to stop flying in Creative mode is to press the jump key twice. If for some reason you do not want to press this key, there are other ways to find yourself on the ground. One of them is the use of the "Sneak" key. By pressing this key, you will slowly descend to the ground, rather than collapse on it. After landing, you will sneak, that is, walk slowly.
- In PC Minecraft, the default sneak key is Left Shift. In other versions of the game, the Sneak key may be different keys. Here are some examples:
- In Minecraft for Xbox 360 / One, push down on the right control stick.
- On Xperia PLAY, press the left touch button.
Step 2. Use the / kill command
In the "Creative" mode, the character is not damaged, but he can be killed using the / kill command. After being reborn, you will find yourself on the ground.
To use this command, open the console (in the computer version of the game press “T”). Type / kill and hit Enter. The character will die
Step 3. Try teleporting to the ground using the / tp command
Use the console to teleport your character to a specific location. If it is on the ground (or underground), you will stop flying.
- To use this command, open a console and type / tp. Then enter the X, Y, Z coordinates of the location on the ground (the coordinates are separated by spaces). X and Z are the horizontal coordinates of the game world, and the Y coordinate is the height. The minimum value for the Y coordinate is 0 (Y = 0 is the lowest level of the game world). If you enter a tilde (~) before any coordinate, the character will be teleported to a point “in relation to the current position of the character”. By inserting a tilde in front of the Y coordinate, you can enter negative values for that coordinate.
- For example, if you enter / tp -100 30 500, the character will be teleported to the point -100/500 at altitude 30.
- But if you enter / tp -100 ~ 30 500, the character will be teleported to the point -100/500 30 blocks above the current height.
Step 4. Change the game mode
Since you cannot fly in Survival mode, switch to Survival mode from Creative mode to stop flying. Keep in mind that in Survival mode, the character takes damage, including damage from falling, so do not switch to another mode if you are flying at high altitudes.
- A convenient way to switch game modes is to use the / gamemode command. Open a console, enter this command, press spacebar, enter the name of the mode you want to switch to and press Enter.

- For example, if you want to switch to Survival mode, use the command / gamemode survival or / gamemode s, or / gamemode 0.
Advice
- Pressing the “/” key will open the command console with the “/” character already entered.
- Holding down the jump key while flying will take you higher.
- If the above methods don't work, open the game settings and make sure the control keys match the default keys.
