Do you like being creative with your food? Let's try to make some meatloaf. This recipe is very simple and there are so many ingredients to add to the meatloaf! The recipe is for six people.
Ingredients
- 600 grams of ground beef
- 3 slices of white bread, torn into small pieces, or 1 cup of bread crumbs / crackers / oatmeal
- 1 glass of tomato juice or milk
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 egg, beat
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Steps
Part 1 of 2: Cooking the meatloaf

Step 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
You need to preheat the oven to get it ready for use when you finish cooking all the ingredients and place them in the preheated oven, so the cooking process will take less time.
It is 175 degrees Celsius

Step 2. Combine bread slices, onion, salt and pepper
Bread slices (bread crumbs, crackers, or oatmeal) will serve as an astringent. To prevent the meatloaf from falling apart, you need to grind the bread pieces well.
If you are using oatmeal, it is best to grind it in a food processor for the best astringent effect. However, it doesn't really matter, and if you don't have the ability to grind it, your meatloaf will still be fine (just a little more crumbly)

Step 3. Crack the egg in a separate bowl
If any pieces of shells get into the bowl of eggs, remove them. Beat the egg lightly and add to the ground beef.

Step 4. Mix the beef, tomato juice and egg
Mix these ingredients thoroughly, but don't overdo it, cook the meat so it's tender, not tough, because no one wants to eat a tough meatloaf.

Step 5. Add the bread slices to the meat
It is best to do this with your own hands to form the shape of a roll from the meat. The mixture should not be too coarse so that the roll is tender and attractive in appearance.

Step 6. Shape the roll into a loaf of bread
Instead of using the bread pan, use a baking sheet so the fat can come out completely from the meatloaf.
On a baking tray, shape the roll into a loaf of bread (as if you were cooking it in a bread pan)

Step 7. Bake the meatloaf for about an hour and a half until it is fully cooked, it will become clear when all the juice comes out of the roll

Step 8. Remove the baking sheet from the oven with gloves and drain off the remaining fat
Let the baked goods cool slightly (you can cover with a little foil). Thus, the roll will not crumble and it will be easier to cut it.

Step 9. Bon appetit
You can serve it with mashed potatoes, baked cauliflower and fresh salad, or whatever you want.
Part 2 of 2: Making a More Creative Meatloaf

Step 1. Let's prepare a meatloaf with an unusual filling
Combine thinly chopped mushrooms, potatoes, peppers, celery, beans, carrots, and so on. You can cut food either by hand or with a food processor.

Step 2. Add cheese
You can grate it either on top of the meatloaf or on the inside. You can also place the cheese in the center of the roll, thus making the cheese filling in the meatloaf.
- Try good old paprika spiced cheddar for a spicy flavor.
- Blue cheese will add a hazy flavor to the roll.

Step 3. Apply glaze on top of the roll
You need to cook the roll for at least 10 minutes, after which you can apply the icing. There are many different ways to prepare frosting, both simple and complex.
One of the glaze recipes is to mix ketchup, hot soy seasoning, honey, cumin, and a little hot seasoning. Apply over the meatloaf. This will give the roll a more savory flavor

Step 4. Season
Add fresh or dried herbs to the mixture, or pepper and garlic. Try different combinations of herbs and spices to achieve the desired result. Add pepper and fresh rosemary for added pungency.

Step 5. Try different meat variations
Different types of meats can be added to ground beef, for different tastes and fat content. Combine 200 grams of ground beef with the meat you want to add.
- For a spicy taste, you can add spicy sausage to the minced meat.
- If you add chopped pork, it will make the roll thicker and give it that special flavor.
Advice
- Instead of powdered onions, add freshly chopped white onions to your meatloaf.
- For the best meatloaf, use toast bread!
- If you want a juicier roll, add ½ cup vegetable / chicken stock or tomato juice. You can also soak the bread crumbs in milk, but not in soy sauce, as this is bad for the taste.
- You can also use any kind of crackers. I love garlic crackers for their flavor.
- Breadcrumbs can be replaced with unsweetened porridge.
