Many people think that only ripe bright yellow bananas taste good. In fact, eating green bananas will not please your stomach, however there are many ways to cook green bananas. Here's a recipe for green bananas with Aji-Li-Mojili sauce. These banana dishes are very popular in areas of the Caribbean where bananas are abundant.
Ingredients
- 8-12 unripe green bananas
- Water
- 2 tablespoons of cooking salt, 1 teaspoon of sauce
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 3 small bell peppers
- 2 black peppercorns or 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 2 tablespoons vinegar

Steps

Step 1. Cut off the ends of the bananas

Step 2. Make cuts along the banana, on both sides
The incision should only cover the peel. Do not peel off.

Step 3. Place the bananas in boiling water under the lid for 15 minutes

Step 4. Drain and peel the bananas

Step 5. Using the same saucepan, pour 8 cups of water into it and add 2 tablespoons of salt
Bring to a boil.

Step 6. Place the bananas in boiling water and cover the pot with a lid

Step 7. Simmer for 10 minutes

Step 8. Add 1 cup cold water and simmer for another 5 minutes

Step 9. Drain and let the bananas cool

Step 10. Cut the bananas into 2cm slices and place them in a glass or china container

Step 11. Put the garlic, bell pepper and peppercorns in a mortar and grind using a crush
If you don't have a mortar and grinder, grind in a food processor or blender.

Step 12. Add olive oil, lime juice, vinegar and 1 tsp
l. salt. Mix everything well.

Step 13. Pour the sauce over the bananas and mix well

Step 14. Immediately after cooking, serve the dish by inserting skewers into the banana slices

You can also try making onion slices with this sauce
Warnings
- Don't cook heavenly bananas using this recipe.
- Do not put food in the refrigerator after cooking, as the bananas will harden very quickly.
