Many people want to become well-rounded and well-educated in all walks of life. The concept of such a development originated during the Renaissance (Renaissance), therefore, a comprehensively educated person is called "a man of the Renaissance", and Leonardo da Vinci is cited as the most striking example. It is not easy to become a truly multifaceted person, but it is possible. To do this, you need to actively follow your hobbies and interests, get a variety of experiences and constantly work on your education.
Steps
Part 1 of 3: Have a varied experience

Step 1. Explore the world around you
Satisfying your curiosity by discovering the world around you is one of the best ways to become a more versatile person. Traveling, new dishes, new interests and hobbies will broaden your horizons and help you look at many things in a new way.
Getting out of your comfort zone will help you develop in many areas and give you the opportunity to become more educated

Step 2. Try new activities
If you are interested in some activity or a friend invited you to join him, take it and try it: you will get new experiences and expand your horizons. Even if in the end you don't like a new activity, you will still become more knowledgeable in this area and generally versatile than if you decided not to try at all.
- You can try art such as painting, dancing, or playing an instrument, try a new sport or game, or find a new hobby like birdwatching or collecting coins.
- Be prepared to try something new, even if you don't think it is very interesting at first. If your friend wants to watch a sci-fi movie, go with him, even if you think science fiction is not your genre at all. Look at something through the eyes of another person, and you will begin to perceive it in a new way.

Step 3. Join hobby clubs in your city, district or school
Communication among them will give you the opportunity to meet a wide variety of people and opinions. In these clubs, you can learn different points of view, and this will help you become more developed.
- Consider talking to representatives of different political groups to find out about their opinions, views and points of view.
- If people are talking about topics that you don't know much about, don't be in a hurry to leave. Stay and listen to the conversation, perhaps you will learn something new that will help you develop in this area.

Step 4. Travel as often as possible
You can learn a lot of new and interesting things about different places, countries and cultures. While traveling, you will have the opportunity to meet new people, stories and opinions, which, of course, will affect your self-development.
- Traveling will give you a glimpse of the world and can change you as a person, even if it's just a trip to a nearby city.
- Traveling to other countries is the best way to discover new things, but traveling around your own country will also help expand your understanding of the world. For example, if you live in the west of the country, you will be surprised that life in the east of the country is very different from yours, and this experience can not only influence your point of view, but also make you more educated.
- Try to deviate from the beaten tourist routes at least occasionally. If you limit yourself to the most popular destinations, you may end up captivated by stereotypes and less experience. This does not mean that you should ignore, for example, Paris, Rome or St. Petersburg just because tourists love them: just find an opportunity to deviate from the routes of traditional excursions, explore secret streets or little-known museums, visit non-tourist cafes.

Step 5. Try new dishes
Don't be afraid to try unfamiliar cuisine if you get the chance. New foods, combinations and flavors will help you learn and appreciate someone else's culture and may even have a positive impact on your health.
- If you live in a big city, it will be quite easy for you to try new dishes in any cuisine. You can certainly find restaurants in most cultures: just search for what you need.
- If you live far from a metropolis, consider preparing your own food from different nations. In books or on the internet, you will find recipes that you can easily prepare at home.
- You can even set your table in a matching style by choosing the right crockery and napkins.

Step 6. Meet new people
Each person has his own opinion and his own view of things, which is formed on the basis of his personal experience. Meet new people from whom you can learn something new in order to become a more developed person in different areas.
- To meet new people, you first need to accept the fact that your opinion is not the only one, that there are other points of view.
- Chat with people of different races, cultures, nationalities, ages, religions and statuses. You can meet people with disabilities. All these people will help you understand how others think and live.
- You can ask your new acquaintances about what they do in life, what plans they have.
- The more you interact with other people, the better you can learn communication skills, which in turn will help you become a more versatile person.

Step 7. Become a volunteer or just help others
Simple acts of kindness and helping others will miraculously affect and diversify your life. Volunteering will help you learn a lot and become a more developed person.
- Consider volunteering at a hospital or nursing home. This will help you become kinder and more positive about life, and besides, there will be an opportunity to communicate with new people from whom you can learn a lot.
- Even simple help to friends and family can help you change. For example, does anyone you know have a seriously ill family member or a child with special needs? If so, offer your help - if not with care, then at least just around the house.
Part 2 of 3: Learn and Learn Again

Step 1. Engage in self-education
An important factor in the development of a versatile personality is self-study, which is based on independent study of materials from different sources. Without new knowledge, you will not be able to develop, therefore, in order to broaden your horizons, first of all, you need education.
For self-education, you can use many different sources. You can take lessons, read textbooks, watch educational and documentaries, or even just chat on some topic with another person - all this will give you new information and broaden your horizons

Step 2. Attend training courses and other activities
You can continue your education throughout your life, attend seminars and lectures, receive additional professional education or undergo advanced training. The development of intelligence and skills will help you look at things from a different perspective, as well as become an interesting and comprehensively developed person.
- You can attend classes, lectures and seminars, as well as other continuing education programs, either in person or online. Many educational institutions now publish their lectures and other teaching materials online in the public domain. For example, courses from leading Russian universities can be found on the Open Education platform.
- Hands-on classes and courses can also be very valuable in developing new knowledge and skills.

Step 3. Read different sources and media
Reading a variety of publications will help you understand opinions and views that differ from yours. This is the best way to become more developed and broaden your horizons.
- Take information from different sources: newspapers, magazines, websites, books. Documentaries are also a great way to learn something new and interesting.
- Trust me, even 20 minutes of reading a day will help you expand your knowledge base.
- It is important to make sure that sources of information offer you different points of view. For example, if you read the liberal press on an issue, then ask what conservative politicians have to say on the issue to understand the position of both sides.

Step 4. Visit museums and cultural centers
Here you will find a lot of new information and impressions. Whether you have the opportunity to visit the museum in person or be limited to a virtual tour, it will help you become more educated in different areas of life.
- Any museum or cultural center has something interesting to offer you, however you can search for information and find a museum or exhibition that is dedicated to your particular interest.
- If you can't get to a particular museum, look online to see if it has a website. Many museums post on their websites a photo gallery of exhibits - at least the most notable ones - and brief information about them.
- Keep an eye on exhibitions and other cultural events in your city so you don't miss out on anything of interest.

Step 5. Develop your opinion and point of view
Use new information and experience to form your own views on certain issues. A truly multifaceted personality is distinguished by the ability not only to receive knowledge, but also to use it in one's life.
- Learn to highlight the main thing and look at any situation from different angles.
- Remember that you do not have to completely share the views of others. You can learn something from them for yourself, and with something and disagree, if you studied the issue and came to the opposite conclusion.
Part 3 of 3: Maintain a Balance Between Personal Life and Work

Step 1. Focus on your life, not work
If you are happy in your personal life, then the likelihood that everything will work out well in your professional life too. Make sure to spend more time with family and friends, but think about work at work.
Try to stick to a stable schedule. If possible, come to work and go home at the same time. If you have to work late, find out if you can take a longer break the next day to have a quiet lunch or just take a walk

Step 2. Love your work
Try to follow the quote: "Pick a job you like and you won't have to work a single day in your life." You are unlikely to be able to truly succeed or find the perfect balance between career and personal life if you are not passionate about what you are doing.
If you do not like your job, it will become a heavy duty for you. You will be more tempted to be casual about your responsibilities and less willing to take the initiative, which means you are less likely to succeed

Step 3. Don't be afraid to take risks
Changing your professional or personal life in pursuit of happiness and success takes risks. This does not mean that you should make rash decisions: the risk should be reasonable and justified.
Take risks wisely without jeopardizing your career or personal life

Step 4. Take care of your physical and emotional health
You cannot become to live in peace and harmony with yourself if you do not pay attention to your health, both physical and psychological. Learn to love yourself and take care of yourself. Exercise is a great way to relieve stress and boost energy and endorphins.
- Go for a walk a couple of times a day to warm up, clear your mind, and avoid overwork. For example, walking or running 5 kilometers will give you time to reflect on your personal and professional concerns when needed, while still providing your body with a payload.
- In the modern world, when you can always get in touch with your mobile phone, email and social networks, it is very important not to use them beyond what is necessary. For example, you can turn off all electronics at 10:00 pm so that you have an hour or two left for yourself and your family.

Step 5. Don't forget about breaks, weekends and vacations
In order to work successfully, it is very important to be distracted from work from time to time - this includes both a ten-minute break and an annual vacation. Relaxation will help you relax and unwind, avoid professional burnout, and move towards success with renewed vigor.
- Take breaks throughout the day. This will give your brain and body the opportunity to relax and rejuvenate.
- Take your vacation. A ten-minute walk or jog will help you relieve stress during the day, but you can only truly forget about work and “reboot” your brain on a full-fledged vacation.
- If you are not given a vacation or it is still very long to wait, go somewhere for the weekend.
