This article will show you how to delete photos uploaded to Facebook, as well as how to remove the tag from the photos of other people who have tagged you. This can be done both in the mobile application and on the Facebook website.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: How to Delete Uploaded Photos
On a mobile device

Step 1. Launch the Facebook application
The application icon looks like a white “f” on a blue background. If you are already logged in, you will find yourself in your news feed.
If you are not automatically signed in, enter your email address (or phone number) and password

Step 2. Tap on ☰ in the lower right (iPhone) or upper right (Android) corner of the screen

Step 3. Click on your name at the very top of the menu
After that, you will be taken to your profile page.

Step 4. Scroll down and tap on Photos
This tab is located under the profile information section.

Step 5. Click on the Downloads tab at the top of the screen

Step 6. Select the photo you want to delete
Scroll down to the photo you want to delete and click on it.

Step 7. Click on ⋯ (iPhone) or ⋮ (Android) in the upper right corner of the screen.
A menu will then appear.

Step 8. Click Delete Photo at the top of the menu

Step 9. Click Yes to confirm the deletion
The photo will be removed from your Facebook account. If the photo was linked to a publication, this publication will also be removed.
On the computer

Step 1. Go to Facebook
Open any browser and go to this address: First of all, you get into your news feed.
If you are not automatically signed in to your account, enter your email address (or phone number) and password in the upper right corner of the page

Step 2. Click on your name in the upper right corner of the page to go to your profile page

Step 3. Tap on Photos
This tab is located just below your profile picture.

Step 4. Click on your photos under the "Photos" heading, just above the list of photos to open the list of uploaded photos

Step 5. Select the photo you want to delete
Scroll down to the photo you want to delete and hover your mouse cursor over it. In the upper right corner of the photo thumbnail there is a button in the form of a pencil.

Step 6. Click on the pencil icon
A dropdown menu will then appear.

Step 7. Click on Delete this photo
This is the last option in the dropdown menu.

Step 8. Confirm the deletion by clicking the Delete button
The photo will be removed from your account. If the photo has been linked to a publication, this publication will also be removed.
Method 2 of 2: How to remove tags from a photo

On a mobile device

Step 1. Launch the Facebook application

Step 2. Tap on ☰ in the lower right (iPhone) or upper right (Android) corner of the screen

Step 3. Click on your name at the top of the menu
This will take you to your profile page.

Step 4. Scroll down and tap on Photos under the profile information section

Step 5. Click on Photos with you at the top left of the page

Step 6. Open the photo you want to remove the tag from
Scroll to the photo you want to double the tag with and click on it.

Step 7. Click on ⋯ (iPhone) or ⋮ (Android) in the upper right corner of the screen.
A menu will then appear.

Step 8. Click Remove Flag
This is one of the options in the dropdown menu.

Step 9. Click Remove Tags from Photos to confirm the removal
When you remove the tag from a photo, the photo will disappear from your news feed.
This photo can still be viewed by friends of the user who posted the photo
On the computer

Step 1. Go to Facebook

Step 2. Click on your name in the upper right corner of the page
After that, you will find yourself on your profile page.

Step 3. Tap on Photos
This tab is located just below your profile picture.

Step 4. Click on Photos with you just below and to the left of the "Photos" heading, above the list with photos
This will open a list of photos you have been tagged on.

Step 5. Select the photo you want to delete
Scroll down to the photo you want to uncheck and hover over it. A pencil button appears in the upper right corner of the thumbnail.

Step 6. Click on the pencil icon
A dropdown menu will then appear.

Step 7. Click on Remove Checkmark at the bottom of the dropdown menu

Step 8. Click Remove Tags from Photos to confirm the removal
This will remove the tag from the photo and the photo itself from your news feed.
- If you want, check the "Complain" box to report the photo.
- Photos that have been tagged can still be viewed by friends of the user who posted the photo.
