How to disable Google Assistant on Android: 6 steps

This article will show you how to turn off the Google Assistant feature on your Android phone or tablet.

Steps

Step 1. Press the Home button at the bottom of the screen to launch Google Assistant

Step 2. Tap the blue and white drawer icon with a handle in the upper right corner of the app

Step 3. Tap ⁝ in the upper right corner of the screen

Step 4. Tap Settings

Step 5. Tap Phone in the middle of the menu, under the Devices heading

Step 6. Move the "Google Assistant" slider to the position

(disable).

While the slider is moved to this position (remains grayed out), Google Assistant will be disabled.
