This article shows you how to add contacts from your Gmail account to the Contacts app on iPhone. To do this, you need to add a Gmail account, if it is not already on the iPhone, or activate the contacts of an already added Gmail account.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: How to add a Gmail account to the Contacts app
Step 1. Open the Settings app
It's a gray gear icon.
Step 2. Scroll down the page and tap Accounts & Passwords
To find this option, scroll down about a third of the page.
Step 3. Tap Add account
This option is located at the bottom of the screen.
Step 4. Select Google
You will find this option in the middle of the screen. The Gmail login page will open.
Step 5. Enter your email address that is associated with your Google account
Or enter your phone number associated with your account
Step 6. Click Next
You will find this option in the lower right corner of the screen.
Step 7. Enter your Google password
Enter your password in the field in the middle of the screen.
Step 8. Tap Next
The Gmail account will be added to the iPhone; the settings for the added account will open.
Step 9. Activate contacts
If the slider to the right of the "Contacts" option is green, the contacts are already activated; otherwise, tap the white slider
at the "Contacts" option to activate the contacts.
Step 10. Click Save
This button can be found in the upper right corner of the screen. The Gmail account will be saved on the iPhone, and its contacts will be added to the Contacts app.
Method 2 of 2: How to activate contacts of an already added Gmail account
Step 1. Open the Settings app
It's a gray gear icon.
Step 2. Scroll down the page and tap Accounts & Passwords
To find this option, scroll down about a third of the page.
Step 3. Select an account
Tap the Gmail account whose contacts you want to activate.
If you only have one Gmail account on your iPhone, tap Gmail
Step 4. Click on the white slider next to "Contacts"
It will turn green
- This means that the contacts of the Gmail account will be added to the Contacts app.
