Do you watch and love "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia"? Then you may be familiar with the favorite dish of Charlie Kelly's character - milk steak with jelly candies. This famous steak was served in The Waitress Gets Married.
Ingredients
- Milk steak:
- 1 medium steak 250 g (from the top shoulder)
- 2 glasses of milk (preferably whole, "4%")
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Garnish:
- 1/2 cup Jelly Belly® gummies (or, if you don't sell them, any others)
Steps

Step 1. Add milk, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla to a medium saucepan

Step 2. Heat the mixture, stirring occasionally, until the honey is completely dissolved

Step 3. Bring the mixture to a boil

Step 4. Carefully place the steaks in the boiling milk mixture

Step 5. Bring the liquid to a boil and reduce heat to simmer the milk

Step 6. Cook the medium-sized steak for five minutes on one side, stirring occasionally to prevent skin formation

Step 7. Turn the steak over and cook on the other side for another 5 minutes

Step 8. Check the cooked steak
If you want an authentic dish, then it shouldn't be pink on the inside.

Step 9. Let the steak sit for a few minutes

Step 10. Decorate with jelly candies
Advice
- For a healthy option, try skim milk or low fat milk.
- For large steaks, use a large skillet and proportionally more ingredients.
- If you decide to make a cheaper tenderloin, which is usually marinated, then this method does not require a marinade. However, if you wish, you can marinate the meat.
- If you are a foodie, try the jelly candies with unusual flavors to take your dish to the next level.
