In this article, you will learn how to calibrate the iPhone screen, and also reset it to factory settings if it stops responding or other problems such as persistent crashes occur.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Calibrate the Auto Brightness Sensor

Step 1. Go to a dimly lit room
Calibrate the auto brightness sensor in a room with minimal lighting. Turn off the lights and / or make sure the room is dark enough.

Step 2. Open "Settings"
This application has a gray gear (⚙️) on your desktop.

Step 3. Scroll down and select Display & Brightness next to the General menu

Step 4. Slide the Auto Brightness slider to Off
". It is immediately below the Brightness setting and turns white.

Step 5. Move the "Brightness" slider to the left
Place your finger on the slider and pull it to the left corner to dim the screen to the minimum level.

Step 6. Slide the Auto Brightness slider to On
". It will turn green. The display screen becomes brighter. The Brightness slider will automatically slide to the right, adjusting the auto brightness sensor for optimal performance.
Method 2 of 2: Back Up and Restore iPhone

Step 1. Open "Settings"
This application has a gray gear (⚙️) on your desktop.
If your phone's screen isn't working properly (not responding to commands or registering them incorrectly), restoring your iPhone might make it work. With this method, you will save all existing data

Step 2. Tap Apple ID
It's a section at the top of the menu that contains your name and image, if added.
- If you're not automatically signed in, tap Sign In, enter your Apple ID and password, then tap Sign In again.
- If your phone has an older version of iOS, this step is optional.

Step 3. Click on iCloud in the second section of the menu

Step 4. Scroll down and tap the iCloud Backup option
It's at the bottom of the Apps Using iCloud section.
Move the iCloud Backup slider to On if it's off

Step 5. Click the Create backup button at the bottom of the screen
Wait for the copy to finish.
To create a copy of an iPhone, you must be connected to a Wi-Fi network

Step 6. Click on iCloud in the upper left corner of the screen to return to the iCloud settings page

Step 7. Click on Apple ID in the upper left corner of the screen to return to the Apple ID settings page
If your phone has an older version of iOS, this step is optional

Step 8. Click on Settings in the upper left corner of the screen to return to the main settings menu

Step 9. Scroll down and click on General at the top of the menu, next to the gear icon (⚙️)

Step 10. Scroll down and click on the Reset button at the bottom of the menu

Step 11. Click on Erase Content and Settings at the top of the menu

Step 12. Enter your password
Enter the password you use to unlock your phone.
If you are asked to enter the Restrictions password, do so

Step 13. Click on Erase iPhone to erase all settings, media and data from iPhone
After the phone has erased all data, click on the "Settings" link, as when you first started it

Step 14. Follow the instructions on the screen to set up your iPhone
A reset will return your iPhone to factory settings, so you'll need to set it up like you just bought it.
